Ukraine is interested in attracting economic forces and means to maintain a high level of cooperation with the Federal Republic of Brazil in the field of defense industry for the implementation of joint projects. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated on December 1 during the official opening of the First Defense Industry Dialogue between Ukraine and Brazil in Kyiv.
The event was attended by a delegation of Brazil led by the Secretary of Defense Products, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Federative Republic of Brazil Marcos Rosas Degaut Pontes, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister for Strategic Industries Oleh Uruskyy, Minister Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and other top officials.
"Despite the great distance between our countries, Ukraine and Brazil have been cooperating closely and fruitfully in the field of international politics, science, economics, education and culture for almost 30 years," the Prime Minister stressed.
Denys Shmyhal noted that the launch of the Defense Industry Dialogue between Ukraine and Brazil is another step aimed to intensify bilateral relations. According to him, during the meeting, both sides will be able to clearly identify ways to enhance bipartite cooperation.
"The Ukrainian defense industry is the driving force behind the development of high-tech production in Ukraine. The Government provides comprehensive support to this industry and sees great prospects both in the qualitative and quantitative growth of our defense products export to foreign markets," said the Prime Minister.
According to Denys Shmyhal, within the framework of the First Defense Industry Dialogue between Ukraine and the Federative Republic of Brazil, a Memorandum of Understanding on scientific and technical cooperation and commercialization of defense products will be signed.
