A meeting of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters was chaired by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and gathered together Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the National Energy and Utilities Regulation Commission Valerii Tarasyuk, representatives of ministries, energy companies and MPs.
The Anti-Crisis Energy Staff heard the report on the state of preparation of the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex to work in the autumn-winter period of 2021/22.
The Prime Minister stressed that it is critical to prepare at maximum for the heating season to ensure its stable passage.
"This winter, it is essential to prove the ability of Ukraine's energy system to be connected to the European ENTSO-E power grid. This is a priority of the Government and the President of Ukraine. That is why it is important to guarantee we pass this winter period providing reliable work of all participants of the process," Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
To ensure a stable heating period, the Ministry of Energy was instructed to draw up a schedule for the accumulation of coal in storage facilities, and together with Naftogaz to develop a schedule for the accumulation of natural gas as well as residues in underground storage facilities for each specific date.
In addition, JSC Ukrzaliznytsia should consider a possibility for the priority of providing gondola cars for shipment of coal products by rail in accordance with the applications of coal companies, mines and central concentration plants.
