Prime Ministers of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Czech Republic Petr Fiala paid tribute to Tomáš Masaryk.
The government leaders laid flowers at the monument to the distinguished Czech figure and philosopher, who championed the rights of his people and supported Ukrainians.
The ceremony, held in Uzhhorod as part of official visits by the government delegations of both countries, underscored the historical and friendly ties between the two nations.
“The support from the Czech Republic is more tangible than ever. We sincerely thank you for your significant and essential assistance in our fight for freedom and independence,” said Denys Shmyhal.
