A sustainable economy and public finances remain an essential element in winning the war. This was emphasised by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a Government session on 14 July.
“In the first six months of 2023, we have managed to finance all key budget expenditures. All taxes from citizens and businesses were directed to ensure the defence and security of our country,” the Prime Minister said.
According to Denys Shmyhal, in January-June 2023, the general fund of the state budget received almost UAH 870 billion. Of this, UAH 600 billion are tax revenues, and UAH 270 billion are grants from our international partners.
In total, according to the Prime Minister, in the first six months, the various funds of the state budget received UAH 1 trillion 302 billion in taxes, fees and other payments. The Head of Government thanked Ukrainian businesses and entrepreneurs who continued to work, develop their own business, employ people, invest, pay taxes, and support communities: “You are the foundation of our economic stability. The Government will continue support programmes and introduce new instruments to help entrepreneurs.”
