Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko met with Speaker of the Saeima of Latvia Daiga Mieriņa. During the meeting, the Head of Government reported on the state of the power grid following the recent shelling and amid severe frost.

"We know the aggressor's goals — a humanitarian catastrophe in Kyiv and the Kyiv region and in other cities. Attempting to freeze Ukrainians when it is below 20 °C outside is part of russia's plan. Latvia strongly condemns these deliberate barbaric actions and supports our state," Yulia Svyrydenko emphasized.

The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude for all the military and financial assistance already provided, as well as the packages of equipment for the restoration of our energy infrastructure.

“The decision to systematically allocate 0.25% of GDP to aid Ukraine confirms the true friendship between our peoples. Latvia is among the countries that share a common problem with us — the border with russia. Together, we will stand firm and defend our security,” Yulia Svyrydenko emphasized.
