On the occasion of the Power Engineer’s Day, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, together with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, took part in an award ceremony for energy sector workers. The event was also attended by Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.
“Power engineers are unbreakable, tireless, strong people. Your battle line is the second after the frontline. You work round the clock, under attack from missiles and drones, in all weathers and seasons, in all conditions and circumstances, you perform real miracles. To bring light and warmth to every home, every business, every town and every village. I thank all power engineers for your resilience, heroism and professionalism. I wish your families health, prosperity and harmony,” Denys Shmyhal said.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Government would support and develop the energy sector. In particular, he spoke about the priorities of the reconstruction on the principle of “build back better” and the main areas of the sector’s development in the future.
During the event, the President of Ukraine presented state awards of Ukraine to energy sector workers.
The Prime Minister also awarded power engineers with honorary diplomas of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The audience observed a minute’s silence in memory of the energy sector workers who died in the line of duty.
