The market economy and free competition play a crucial role on the path to the EU. And the role of the Antimonopoly Committee is important in this respect. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal when introducing the new head of the AMCU, Pavlo Kyrylenko, to the AMCU staff.

“Today, the Committee faces important tasks. There is a great demand for justice and integrity in society. In particular, justice and integrity in business. Business must work responsibly, work for victory,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister stressed that the protection of economic competition remained on Ukraine’s agenda. As part of Ukraine’s commitments to its partners, including the IMF, there is an agreement to improve the work of the AMCU in terms of promoting market competition, especially during the post-war reconstruction phase.

According to the Prime Minister, the changes in the work of the Committee are also part of Ukraine’s European integration aspirations, in particular the Association Agreement with the EU: “The tasks have been set. Let’s work for the good of Ukraine.”
