    The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal had a conversation with Alfred Kammer, Director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund. The Prime Minister mentioned the start of the IMF mission for the first review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, which will commence on May 23 in Vienna.

    Denys Shmyhal and Alfred Kammer discussed, among other things, the IMF's assistance in Ukraine's European integration and the Fund's role in the recovery.

    "We are working on the creation of an International Compensation Mechanism to use the confiscated russian assets for the reconstruction of Ukraine. We count on the IMF's support in this direction, as well as on further assistance in consolidating financial assistance from partners around the world," the Prime Minister said.

    Background

    The Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program totalling USD 15.6 billion was approved in March 2023 and is designed for 4 years. It is part of a large package of support from the G7 countries worth USD 115 billion during the effect of the program.
