At a meeting on 6 August, the Government decided that consumers who use at least 80% of their own electricity will not be subject to power cuts. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

According to him, in this way the state is encouraging the energy autonomy of businesses.

The Head of Government noted that in order to ensure an adequate level of preparation for the winter period, the state had introduced a package of programmes and measures to accelerate the development of decentralised power generation.

“These include loans to businesses and citizens for the creation of alternative energy, duty-free imports of energy equipment and simplification of bureaucratic procedures for the commissioning of generating units. We are continuing this work on an ongoing basis,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister noted that russia continued to attack Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Every day Ukrainian substations and power lines come under enemy fire.

The Prime Minister thanked Ukrainian power engineers for carrying out routine repairs and preparing the energy system for the next heating season under such difficult conditions.
