On 11 December, during his working visit to Germany, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz.
The parties discussed cooperation between the two countries in the economic and humanitarian spheres, strengthening of sanctions policy and European integration.
An important topic of conversation was the establishment of a just and lasting peace.
"Ukraine's membership in NATO is the only effective tool that can stop the recurrence of aggression," said Denys Shmyhal.
The participants also touched upon the development of joint military production. Today, Ukraine and Germany have the largest number of projects in the defence industry, including the repair and maintenance of armoured vehicles and tanks, production of modern armoured personnel carriers, air defence systems, missiles, etc.
The parties also paid attention to strengthening economic cooperation and initiatives that will increase the GDP of both countries.
The Prime Minister thanked Germany for joining the G7 initiative to support Ukraine by using frozen russian assets worth USD 50 billion.
"It is essential to continue to put pressure on the russian economy and confiscate all their sovereign assets," Denys Shmyhal said.
