The concept of return of service members to civilian life was discussed in the Government during a meeting on veterans’ policy chaired by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“The return of service members from the frontline and their further adaptation is an urgent issue that needs to be addressed now. Today’s defenders must know that tomorrow they will find comfortable conditions for life, work, rehabilitation, education and further development at home,” the Prime Minister stressed.
According to the Head of Government, the Cabinet of Ministers is developing a strategy that will include the following key areas:
The participants of the meeting heard proposals from the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Education and Science.
The Prime Minister instructed the ministries to speed up the preparation and submission of resolutions and draft laws necessary for the further adaptation of Ukrainian service members to civilian life.
The meeting was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk, Minister for Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina, Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych, Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko, Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi, representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and MPs.
