Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, posted 19 April 2022 11:22

During the war, much has changed. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine focuses on joint and coordinated work with other ministries and Ukrzaliznytsia as well to simplify grain logistics. Everyone is working at 100% for the state's economy to withstand this difficult time, told Mykola Solskyi, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, to Agropolit edicition in an interview.

The Minister also says that the Government is today simplifying to the maximum all permitting procedures within the country related to the acceleration of grain logistics. Agreements are being made with other countries on maximum simplification of transit, assistance with infrastructure, reorientation to Ukrainian business, etc.

Mykola Solskyi told reporters about what impact makes the war on sowing campaign, providing farmers with fuel, exports, food security and elevator infrastructure of Ukraine's agro-industrial complex.

"The bombardment of fuel depots has significantly narrowed logistics. Many farmers and traders keep certain part of diesel in tanks. Accordingly, there were fewer tanks for fuel transportation. Also, farmers no longer buy fuel for several months in advance, but do so only planning for the coming weeks. Today, international assistance with fuel is primarily focused on military needs. Many traders continue to supply fuel to farmers. Given the circumstances, fuel prices are usually higher than we would like. But there is fuel on the market. Authorities and traders are doing everything possible to ensure that such situation was preserved in the future,” Mykola Solskyi said.
