Enhancing energy independence for hospitals as part of the Ray of Hope project: Since the year's start, 21 healthcare facilities launched electricity generation

Between January and the first half of June 2026, as part of the Ray of Hope project, 21 healthcare facilities began generating electricity independently. The total installed capacity of the solar power plants put into operation is 1,820 kW.

Currently, another 100 facilities have reached various stages of implementation: 7 healthcare facilities—the final stage, and 151—the technical design stage.

The commissioning of 21 healthcare facilities was made possible thanks to international support. Specifically, 15 facilities were funded by Germany, 5 with support from Sweden, and one with support from the United Kingdom.

As a reminder, the Ray of Hope program is a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, implemented within the framework of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and coordinated by the Energy Community Secretariat.

The program’s goal is to enhance the energy resilience of healthcare facilities by equipping them with solar panels, energy storage systems, and other equipment to ensure a reliable power supply and uninterrupted operation even under challenging conditions.
