Since the beginning of the year, more than 9,800 Ukrainian agricultural enterprises have received UAH 47.2 billion in bank loans for the development of farms. Of these, more than 7,600 enterprises received UAH 28.6 billion in loans under the Government’s Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme.

Agricultural enterprises in the following regions received the largest amount of loans under various programmes:

• Kyiv region – UAH 8.2 billion (727 enterprises);
• Vinnytsia region – UAH 4.7 billion (1,137 enterprises),
• Dnipropetrovsk region – UAH 4.1 billion (650 enterprises);
• Kirovohrad region – UAH 3.96 billion (1,402 enterprises);
• Odesa region – UAH 3.3 billion (881 enterprises).

The following regions received the most loans under the Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme:

• Kirovohrad region – UAH 3.45 billion (1,135 enterprises);
• Vinnytsia region – UAH 3 billion (912 enterprises);
• Odesa region – UAH 2.8 billion (710 enterprises);
• Kyiv region – UAH 2.7 billion (588 enterprises).

Background

The Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme simplifies access to bank lending for micro and small businesses. Farmers can receive a loan of up to UAH 90 million. Loans are provided at 5-9% per annum, depending on the loan category and type of business entity.
