
Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food: Another 4 agricultural enterprises receive over UAH 26 million in grants to develop gardens and greenhouses
As part of the Government’s grant programme to support small and medium-sized businesses, eRobota, 4 agricultural enterprises received UAH 26.4 million for the development of horticulture, berry and viticulture, and greenhouse farming. In particular, 2 farms received UAH 12.4 million for the development of horticulture and 2 farms received UAH 14.0 million for greenhouse farming.
In total, since the beginning of the year, over UAH 323.9 million of grant aid has been paid to 79 agricultural producers. Of this amount, UAH 220.4 million was paid to 58 farms for orchards and UAH 103.5 million was received by 21 farms for the creation and development of greenhouses.
Since the start of the programme, UAH 1 billion has been paid to 231 business entities. In particular, 179 farms received UAH 757.6 million for the development of horticulture, berry growing and viticulture, and UAH 271.4 million for greenhouses.
Background
The Government’s grant programme has been in place since 1 July 2022 and provides support for small and medium-sized businesses. Its benefits include the opportunity for everyone to start or develop their own business in the areas of “Own Business”, ‘‘Own Garden”, ‘‘Own Greenhouse” and ‘‘New Level”.
Grants are provided in the amount of no more than 70% of the project cost, but no more than UAH 10 million. The applicant must finance at least 30% of the project cost with their own or credit funds. A prerequisite is the employment of the required number of employees. For gardens, from 5 to 10 permanent and 125 to 425 seasonal workers, depending on the type of planting. For greenhouses, at least 4 permanent and 10 seasonal workers per hectare.
In August 2024, the Government expanded the terms of grants for the development of viticulture and horticulture.
Funding for agricultural producers under the Government’s eRobota programme in 2024-2025 is provided by the World Bank under the Ukraine Agriculture Recovery Inclusive Support Emergency (ARISE) Project.
