Support for Ukraine and cooperation: Yuliia Svyrydenko met with Italian Ambassador Carlo Formosa

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to Ukraine Carlo Formosa to discuss Italy’s support for Ukraine and strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

“We are grateful for the high level of political, military, financial and humanitarian support provided by Italy to our country. Ukraine greatly appreciates the high level of mutual understanding and cooperation that we have achieved in recent years. We thank Italy for its leadership during the G7 presidency and its consistent support in the issues that are important to us. Italy’s decision to co-host the next Ukraine Recovery Conference will further strengthen the relations between our countries,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

During the meeting the parties discussed:

  • preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome. Ukraine hopes to expand the initiatives announced at the previous conferences in London and Berlin;
  • Italy’s potential joining of the SME Alliance;
  • involvement of Italian businesses in recovery and investment projects in Ukraine;
  • practical implementation of the G7 decision to provide Ukraine with a EUR 50 billion loan;
  • the issue of frozen russian assets;
  • cooperation in humanitarian demining.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working on the issues discussed.
