Under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy, Ukraine has received 7 cargoes of humanitarian aid from the United Arab Emirates, with a total weight of about 100 tonnes.
This is the first tranche of aid, which includes 1,640 portable power generators with a capacity of 2.8kW to 8kW. A total of 2,000 generators are expected to be delivered by UAE partners.
“russia’s military aggression against Ukrainian civilians and critical infrastructure is a crime against humanity. We appreciate that the range of countries supporting Ukraine’s energy sector in these circumstances is growing. We thank our partners from the United Arab Emirates for providing power generators that will become an additional power reserve for critical energy facilities,” said German Galushchenko, Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
Some of the equipment has already been distributed to 38 companies in the energy sector. These are companies involved in electricity generation, distribution and transmission, gas production and supply, mainly in the regions most affected by the aggressor’s actions.
Under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy, Ukraine has received 1,040 humanitarian aid shipments from 36 countries totalling over 14,000 tonnes since March 2022.
