On 5 August, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and the Ministry of Justice of Japan in the field of law and justice was signed. The Memorandum was signed by Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Maliuska and Minister of Justice of Japan Koizumi Ryuji. The document envisages the development of mutual friendship and cooperation between the parties through the exchange of experience and information in the field of law and justice.
The scope of cooperation between the agencies will cover the following areas:
During the meeting, Denys Maliuska thanked his foreign counterparts for their comprehensive support of Ukraine and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation between the institutions. The Minister of Justice of Ukraine said: “The signing of this Memorandum demonstrates the support of the Ministry of Justice of Japan for Ukraine in the field of justice, and I am confident that the experience of foreign colleagues will help Ukraine achieve our common ambitions.”
Koizumi Ryuji noted that the Ministry of Justice of Japan would further support Ukraine’s efforts in the legal and judicial spheres.
Following the meeting, the two sides also agreed to maintain an ongoing dialogue and work together to explore possible areas of cooperation in the future.
