On August 17, Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko visited the Zaporizhia region with a working trip.
The Minister held a meeting with representatives of regional energy companies aimed to discuss the current progress in the preparations for the autumn-winter period. German Galushchenko emphasized that special attention is paid to preparing for winter in the front-line territories because the energy infrastructure in these regions is constantly under attack by russian troops.
The regions that were on the demarcation lines suffer the most today. They literally hold the front. Therefore, we must do everything possible to ensure that the region is even more than 100% prepared for the heating season," German Galushchenko emphasized.
The Minister thanked the employees of PJSC Zaporizhiaoblenergo for their courage and dedication to their profession, because, despite the constant risk to life, they restore electricity supply to consumers every day. Three of the company's employees have already been awarded a certificate of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for heroism.
Since the beginning of August, electricity has been restored to 60,700 consumers in the region. Meanwhile, as of August 17, 34,000 subscribers are still without power in the region, as electricity supply cannot be restored due to hostilities.
International partners also provide support in ensuring a reliable supply of electricity. Since the beginning of the war, Zaporizhiaoblenergo has received equipment and components as part of humanitarian aid. For operational needs, the enterprise has already been distributed more than 30 power generators with a capacity of 5 to 200 kW, more than 10 voltage transformers, more than 10 km of various types of cables and wires.
