    Efficient resource management, a list of public investment projects, priority areas of reconstruction and the continuation of public investment management reform were among the issues addressed at the 7th meeting of the Strategic Investment Council. The event was chaired by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

    The Council members reviewed and approved sectoral portfolios with priority projects. According to the Head of Government, these will be projects that should deliver concrete results this year.

    "It is crucial for us to distribute the available resources more efficiently and set clear priorities. This is why we are pursuing the reform of public investment management," said Denys Shmyhal.

    According to him, the focus will be on several areas in the near future:

    - social sector: housing, education, healthcare and social protection;

    - infrastructure: energy, transport and water supply;

    - cross-cutting areas, including humanitarian demining and the development of a safe shelter system.

    "Public investment reform is not something temporary or something for this year. Each ministry must learn to work within the framework of the reform," said Denys Shmyhal.

    He emphasised that the implementation of the reform was also important for coordination with donors, as it allows attracting the necessary funding. But most importantly, according to Denys Shmyhal, it is essential for people, for their safety and well-being.

    "This way, we demonstrate to our citizens that the recovery is systematic and predictable," the Prime Minister underlined.
