As part of the preparations for the heating season, 11.7 billion cubic metres of gas have already been accumulated in gas storage facilities. It is planned to reach 14.7 billion cubic metres by the beginning of the autumn-winter period. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal following a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksandr Kubrakov, Head of Naftogaz Oleksiy Chernyshov, representatives of the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Finance.
The meeting focused on repairs, accumulation of fuel resources, and safety of thermal power facilities.
The meeting heard information from the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development and Naftogaz on the plan to prepare thermal power plants for the autumn-winter period of 2023/2024 and the status of implementation of this plan for combined heat and power plants, boiler houses and thermal power plants.
“As reported by the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, each utility has its own plan for equipment repairs, and these plans are being implemented on schedule. Those responsible for their compliance have been identified. We have reviewed the state of readiness of the utilities. At the start of the heating season we need to reach a 100% indicator. This will guarantee a stable winter,” Denys Shmyhal stressed.
The Prime Minister also informed about his instructions to ensure the protection of heat and power infrastructure from enemy shelling.
“The tasks have been set. Those responsible have been identified. We are working to ensure that the homes of Ukrainians are warm,” the Head of Government said.
