Situation update of General Staff of UAF as of 6 p.m., September 24, 2023

Day 578 of the russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, and shells both military and civilian targets.

During the day of September 24, there were 24 combat engagements. The enemy launched 1 missile strikes, 44 air strikes, 52 MLRS strikes at the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian targets. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes. There are no signs of offensive groups being formed. Certain units of the Belarusian armed forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the enemy maintains its military presence in the border areas, continues shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia. The adversary launched an air strike in the vicinity of Stepne (Sumy oblast). More than 15 settlements suffered enemy artillery and mortars fire, including Moshchenka, Karpovychi (Chernihiv oblast), Yablunivka, Ryasne, Pozhnya (Sumy oblast), Odnorobivka, Baranivka, Vovchansk, Vilkhuvatka, Stroivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Kupyansk axis: the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Cherneshchyna (Kharkiv oblast) and Novojehorivka (Luhansk oblast). More than 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Berestove, Ivanivka, Kyslivka (Kharkiv oblast), suffered enemy artillery and mortars shelling.

Lyman axis: the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions. The adversary launched air strikes at the settlements of Nevske (Luhansk oblast) and Spirne (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Novosadove, Spirne, Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast), suffered enemy artillery and mortars fire.

Bakhmut axis: the Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks in the area east of Bohdanivka and southeast of Bila Hora (Donetsk oblast). The enemy made attempts to regain lost ground near Klishchiiivka (Donetsk oblast), but was unsuccessful. The occupiers launched air strike in the vicinities of Klishchiivka, Andriyivka, New York (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortars fire, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriyivka, Druzhba, New York (Donetsk oblast).

Avdiyivka axis: the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost ground near Avdiyivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders launched an air strike in the vicinity of Avdiyivka (Donetsk oblast). The adversary fired artillery and mortars at the settlements of Avdiyivka and Karlivka (Donetsk oblast). 

Maryinka axis: during the day of September 24, the Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 11 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Maryinka (Donetsk oblast). The adversary launched an air strike near Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Hostre, Heorhiyivka, Maryinka, Pobjeda, Pervomaiske, Paraskoviyivka (Donetsk oblast).

Shakhtarske axis: the adversary launched air strikes near the settlements of Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Staromaiorske and Zelene Pole (Donetsk oblast). About 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Vuhledar, Blahodatne, Urozhaine, Rivnopil (Donetsk oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortars fire.

Melitopol axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct the offensive operation. The Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled the enemy’s attacks near Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The occupiers launched air strike near Verbove, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne and Novodanylivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Levadne, Hulyaipole, Yehorivka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriyivka, Plavni (Zaporizhzhia oblast).

Kherson axis: the invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Beryslav, Odradokamyanka, Burhunka, Olhivka (Kherson oblast). The russian occupiers fired artillery and mortars at about 10 settlements, including Kozatske, Olhivka, Tokarivka, Dniprovske, Kizomys, Stanislav (Kherson oblast).

During the day of September 24, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 8 air strikes on the concentrations of troops, weapons, and military equipment of the adversary.

Missile troops hit 2 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4 artillery systems and 1 ammunition depot of the russian invaders.
