Situation update of General Staff of UAF regarding russian invasion as of 6 p.m., September 9, 2023

Day 563 of the russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine continues.

During the day of September 9, there were 26 combat engagements. The adversary launched 2 missile, 29 air strikes, more than 14 MLRS as attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure in various settlements.

Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Ambarne, Budarkiv (Kharkiv oblast). More than 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Karpovychi, Leonivka (Chernihiv oblast), Novomykolaivka, Myropilske, Turya (Sumy oblast), Huryiv Kozachok, Budarky, Starytsya (Kharkiv oblast).

The operational situation in east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

Kupyansk axis: the enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Synkivka, Kyslivka (Kharkiv oblast), Novoselivske (Luhansk oblast). The settlements of Kyslivka, Kucherivka (Kharkiv oblast) came under artillery and mortar fire.

Lyman axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks in the vicinity of Berestove. The enemy launched air strikes against Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Spirne, Vesele (Donetsk oblast). More than 20 settlements, including Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Dibrova, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, Berestove (Donetsk oblast), were shelled with artillery and mortars.

Bakhmut axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully holding back the russian offensive in the vicinities of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka and Klishchiyivka. The enemy launched air strikes against Klishchiyivka and Andriyivka (Donetsk oblast). More than 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Chasiv Yar, Klishchiyivka, Bila Hora, Kurdyumivka, New York (Donetsk oblast). 

Avdiyivka axis: More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Keramik, Stepove, Avdiyivka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Maryinka axis: during the day of September 8, Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Maryinka. The adversary launched an air strike in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around than 15 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast).

Shakhtarske axis: The enemy launched air strikes near Prechystivka and Zolota Nyva (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Zaporizhzhia axis: the adversary launched an air strike in the vicinity of Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 20 settlements, including Olhivske, Hulyaipole, Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Pyatykhatky, Robotyne, Kamyanske (Zaporizhzhia oblast).

Kherson axis: the settlements of Ponyativka, Sadove (Kherson oblast) and Dniprovske (Mykolaiv oblast) came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct the offensive operation on Melitopol axis and offensives (assaults) on Bakhmut axis. Ukrainian defenders make gains in the area south of Robotyne and Klishchiyivka, consolidating the new positions, crushing the enemy and step by step liberating the occupied territories.

During the day of September 9, Ukrainian Air Force launched 8 air strikes on the concentrations of troops, weapons, and military equipment.

Missile, artillery, and UAV units hit 5 artillery systems and 1 anti-aircraft missile systems of russian invaders.
