Day 572 of the russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The russian occupiers continue to violate the International Humanitarian Law, as they target and shell the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure alike, terrorizing civilians. Thus, during the day of September 17, the enemy has launched yet another strike on Ukraine with air-launched cruise missiles and Shahed-136/131 combat UAVs. The air defense units intercepted 6x cruise missiles and 6x Shaheds. Unfortunately, these acts of terrorism committed by the kremlin have wounded civilians, destroyed residential buildings, and damaged civilian infrastructure.

In addition, since the beginning of the day of September 18, the russian occupiers used cruise missiles and combat UAVs to launch a massive missile and air strike on the civilian infrastructure of Odesa oblast. Information on the aftermath of this terrorist attack is currently being updated.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to defend in the east and the south of Ukraine, conduct the offensive on Melitopol axis, and offensive operations on Bakhmut axis. As they destroy the enemy, they liberate the temporarily occupied territories and consolidate new positions.

During the day of September 17, there were more than 35x combat engagements. The enemy launched 15x missile and 70x air strikes, 47x MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements.

Air strikes hit Hirky, Pavlivka, Popivka (Sumy oblast), Nadiya (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Torske, Siversk, Vesele, Andriivka, New York, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), Verbove, Robotyne, Novodanylivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast), Odradokamyanka, and Mykolaivka (Kherson oblast).

About 80x settlements in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts came under artillery fire.

Pivnich operational-strategic group, Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary continues to maintain a group of troops safeguarding the state border. The enemy troops conduct active subversive activities in the border areas in order to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened axes. The adversary increases the density of minefields along the state border in Belgorod oblast (russia).

Khortytsia operational-strategic group, Bakhmut axis: the Defense Forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the vicinity of Bila Hora (Donetsk oblast). The enemy made unsuccessful attempts to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of Andriivka (Donetsk oblast). Defense Forces continue assault operations in the vicinity of Klishchiyivka, inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy, and consolidated their new positions.

Tavria operational-strategic group, Maryinka axes: the adversary conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of Maryinka (Donetsk oblast). Here, the enemy made 10x unsuccessful attempts to force Ukrainian units out of their positions over the day of September 17. At the same time, on Avdiivka and Shakhtarske axes, the Ukrainian Defense Forces maintain the initiative, put pressure on the enemy, conduct assault operations, and win back Ukrainian land.

Melitopol axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, forcing the enemy to withdraw from their positions.

Odesa operational-strategic group, Kherson axis: the Ukrainian soldiers conduct counter-battery fire, destroy the supply depots, and successfully strike behind the enemy lines.

During day of September 17, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 9x air strikes on the concentrations of troops, weapons, and military equipment of the adversary.

The Ukrainian missile troops hit 2x concentrations of enemy troops, weapons, and military equipment, 2x anti-aircraft missile systems, 11x artillery systems, 3x ammunition depots, and 1x electronic warfare station of the adversary.
