Situation update of General Staff of UAF regarding russian invasion as of 6.00 a.m., 16th January, 2023

Day 327 of the russian military aggression has begun.

Last day, the enemy launched 2x missile strikes and carried out more than 55x MLRS attacks, including against civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson oblasts.

The threat of enemy air and missile strikes remains high across Ukraine.

The enemy continues offensive operations on Bakhmut and Avdiivka axes, that brings russian side heavy personnel losses though.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast); Verkhn’okam’yans’ke, Krasnopolivka, Spirne, Sil’, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Novobakhmutivka, Velyka Novosilka, Prechistivka, Krasnohorivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Vodyane, Mayorsk and Mar’inka (Donetsk oblast).

Volyn, Polissya, and Sivershchyna axes: no significant changes, no signs of the creation of offensive grouping reported. At the same time, the vicinities of Seredyna-Buda, Pavlivka, Kindrativka and Popivka (Sumy oblast); and Starytsya, Huryiv Kozachok, Kozacha Lopan, Budarki, Vovchansk, Strelecha, Krasne Pershe, Ohirtseve, Ternova, Khatne, and Poplars (Kharkiv oblast) came under mortar and artillery fire.

Kup’yans’k and Lyman axes: the enemy shelled the vicinities of 23x settlements, including Dvorichna, Kotlyarivka, Krokhmalne, Berestov, and Kislivka (Kharkiv oblast); and Novoselivs’ke, Stelmakhivka, Nevs’ke, Kuzmyne, and Chervonopivka in Luhansk oblast.

Bakhmut axis: the vicinities of more than 25x settlements suffered enemy attacks, including Spirne, Ozaryanivka, Klishchiivka, Ivano-Daryivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Druzhba, New York and Pivnichne (Donetsk oblast).

Avdiivka axis: tanks and the entire range of artillery shelled Heorgiivka, Vesele, Avdiivka, Nevels’ke, Pervomais’ke, Mar’inka, Vodyane, Orlivka, and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast).

Novopavlivka axis: Vuhledar, Prechistivka, and Mykil’ski Dachi (Donetsk oblast) came under enemy fire.

Zaporizhzhia axis: the enemy employed tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery to shell Ukrainian positions in the vicinities of more than 24x settlements, including: Mylovo, Hulyaipole, Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Stepove, Plavni, Shcherbaki, and Kachkarivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast).

Kherson axis: the enemy continued to shell populated areas along the right bank of the Dnipro River. 17x settlements were affected, including Antonivka, Zolota Balka, Havrylivka, Lviv, Sadov and the city of Kherson.

During the past day, Ukrainian Air Force conducted 9x air strikes on concentrations of russian troops, and 2x strikes on its air defense assets.

At the same time, Ukrainian missile and artillery troops attacked 1x command post, 6x concentrations of russian troops and military equipment, 1x ammunition depot, and 1x electronic warfare station of the enemy.
