The russian occupiers keep ignoring the International Humanitarian Law, as they target and shell the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure alike, terrorizing civilians. 

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to defend in the east and the south of Ukraine, conduct the offensive on Melitopol’ axis, and offensive operations on Bakhmut axis. As they destroy the enemy, they liberate the temporarily occupied territories and consolidate new positions. 

 On October 5, Kremlin terrorist forces launched yet another cynical missile attack on a civilian facility in the village of Hroza (Kupyansk district, Kharkiv oblast). According to preliminary data, the targeted hit killed more than 50 residents. As the rubble is being cleared, search operations are ongoing and the wounded are rendered aid.

During the day of October 5, there were 37 combat engagements. The enemy launched a total of 3 missile, 65 air strikes, 50 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian targets across Ukraine. In addition, the russian federation launched yet another strike at Ukraine using 29 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs from the southeast. The Ukrainian Air Force, in cooperation with the air defense of the Ukrainian defense forces, intercepted 24 enemy Shaheds. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged.

Air strikes hit Hrabovs’ke (Sumy oblast), Ivanivka, Kyslivka (Kharkiv oblast), Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Spirne, Klishchiivka, Ivanopillya, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka, Urozhaine, Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), Novodarivka, Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast), Beryslav, Kozatske, Odradokamyanka, Mykolaivka, Olhivka (Kherson oblast).

More than 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts came under artillery fire.

Pivnich operational-strategic group, Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy troops conduct active subversive activities in order to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened axes. The adversary increases the density of minefields along the state border in Belgorod oblast (russia).

Khortytsia operational-strategic group, Kupyansk axis: the adversary did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. Lyman axis: the Ukrainian defense forces repelled 4 enemy attacks in the area east of Makiyivka (Luhansk oblast). Bakhmut axis: the Ukrainian defense forces had success east of Andriiyvka (Donetsk oblast). The adversary made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost position in the area east of Dyliyivka (Donetsk oblast). The Ukrainian defense forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut (Donetsk oblast), inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy, and consolidate their new positions.

Tavria operational-strategic group, Avdiyivka and Maryinka axes: the adversary conducted unsuccessful assault in the vicinity of Avdiyivka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy made 14 unsuccessful attacks in the vicinities of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). Shakhtarske axis: the Ukrainian soldiers repelled enemy attacks in the vicinities of settlements of Zolota Nyva and Vodyane (Donetsk oblast). Zaporizhzhia axis: the Ukrainian defenders are holding back the enemy in the area southeast of Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast).  

The Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operation on Melitopol axis, offensive (assault) operations on Bakhmut axis, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, continue consolidating their positions and exhausting the enemy. 

Odesa operational-strategic group, Kherson axis: the Ukrainian defense forces continue to conduct counter-battery fire, destroy the supply depots, and successfully strike behind the enemy lines. 

During the day of October 5, Ukrainian Air Force launched 12 air strikes on the concentrations of troops, weapons, and military equipment, and 7 strikes on the anti-aircraft missile systems of the adversary.

The Ukrainian missile troops hit 1 communication center, 1 anti-aircraft missile system, 1 heavy flamethrower system, 9x artillery systems, 1 fuel and lubricant depot, 1 radar station, and 1 electronic warfare station of the invaders.
