Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 17, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 4,286 (304 children out of this number, 329 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 127,320.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2330 persons, 147 patients died, 5927 persons recovered. There have been conducted 64842 testing (25782 using the PCR method, 16647 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 - 22413).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1280904 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1128895 people recovered;
  • 24689 people died;
  • 6596588 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
