  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 16, in Ukraine, there have been officially confirmed 10,622 (501 children out of this number, 579 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 368,543.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 3,242 persons, 264 patients died, 12,549 persons recovered. There have been conducted 63,445 testing (40,740 using the PCR method and 22,705 using the ELISA method).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 919,704 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 535,417 people recovered;
    • 15,744 people died;
    • 5,125,389 testing have been conducted.

    The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (1,858), Odesa region (861), Zaporizhia region (801), Kyiv region (705), Lviv region (600).

The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
