Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 21, 2021 in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 6,363 (534 children out of this number, 208 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 27,603,218 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,461,449 people have been vaccinated. On December 21, 2021, 119,129 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 36,382 – CoronaVac vaccine, 60,570 – Comirnaty vaccine, 7,046 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 15,131.

Vaccination was carried out by 843 mobile immunization teams, 3,364 vaccination points and 453 vaccination centers. 

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,241 persons, 301 patients died, 19,494 persons recovered. There have been conducted 81,514 testings (33,856 using the PCR method, 7,109 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 40,549). 

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,623,079 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,376,899 people recovered;
  • 93,909 people died;
  • 16,566,449 testings have been conducted.
