Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of October 3, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 4,821 (448 children out of this number, 50 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 12,747,523 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 7,190,643 people have been vaccinated. On October 3, 2021, 33,924 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 7,160 – CoronaVac vaccine, 20,753 – Comirnaty vaccine, 6,011 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 0.

Vaccination was carried out by 330 mobile immunization teams, 1,070 vaccination points and 358 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,092 persons, 114 patients died, 1,116 persons recovered. There have been conducted 30,587 testing (16,214 using the PCR method and 2,525 using the ELISA method, and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 –11,848).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 2,460,010 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 2,264,523 people recovered;
  • 56,889 people died;
  • 12,966,892 testings have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
