  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 8, in Ukraine, there have been officially confirmed 10,811 (520 children out of this number, 512 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 382,266.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,319 persons, 195 patients died, 12,860 persons recovered. There have been conducted 55,070 testing (30,718 using the PCR method and 24,352 using the ELISA method).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 832,758 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 436,564 people recovered;
    • 13,928 people died;
    • 4,838,679 testing have been conducted.

    The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (1,475), Odesa region (1,043), Zaporizhia region (948), Poltava region (916) and Cherkasy region (746).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
