Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 23, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 4,182 (252 children out of this number, 219 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 134,758.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1236 persons, 153 patients died, 4351 persons recovered. There have been conducted 49600 testing (23660 using the PCR method, 14782 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 - 11158).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1311844 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1151777 people recovered;
  • 25309 people died;
  • 6738144 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
