    Acting Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection Olha Buslavets held a video conference with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Ukraine Mrs. Melinda Simmons, during which the parties discussed the situation in the energy sector and promising areas for cooperation.

    The Ambassador congratulated Olha Buslavets on her appointment and assured of the readiness to maintain an active dialogue and provide assistance in resolving issues of energy development and energy security.

    The acting Minister told about the challenges currently facing the Ukrainian energy sector, as well as about the measures implemented within the framework of the operation of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal aimed to stabilize the situation.

    Among the priorities of the Ministry in this direction is to reach a compromise with investors in RES and the voluntary signing of a Memorandum on a new model of support. On Tuesday, another round of talks with investors took place, they have already entered the final straight. "It is rather critical for us to maintain the status of a country with an attractive investment climate in order to prolong leveraging investment in the development, including energy infrastructure," said Olha Buslavets.

    Apart from that, she asked to share the UK's experience in reforming the coal industry. Mrs. Melinda Simmons assured that her country is ready to provide Ukraine with the necessary assistance in this direction.
