The State will provide all-round support, in particular, legal and financial, to the families and relatives of the victims of a plane crash in Iran. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk at the Government’s meeting.
"The Government will allocate a UAH 200,000 compensation to the families of 11 Ukrainians killed in a plane crash. One-off state financial assistance will be disbursed from the reserve fund before the payment of all insurance payoffs will be received," the Head of Government stressed.
According to the PM, due implementation of the insurance payments under the Montreal Convention will be controlled. For each family of the victims insurance payments worth 250,000 SDR (Special Drawing Rights) are envisaged, which is approximately worth $ 345,000.
Apart from that, Ukraine insists on compensation from the Government of Iran through all diplomatic channels and international jurisdictions.
"No compensation will dull the pain of the tragedy, but we stand for justice", Oleksiy Honcharuk underscored.
