In February Ukrainians will receive the lowest utility bill for heating. More than half of citizens who have individual heating will pay for heating by 40% less as compared with the same period last year. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk announced this at a briefing at the Government House on March 2.
"Ukrainians will pay a record low utility bill not only this winter but also as compared with the recent years. This is the result of the work of the team of the President, Parliament, Government; there are many factors that have lad to a decrease in payments, " the Prime Minister said.
The PM stressed that the reduction of the utility became possible due to the government-developed mechanism for heating suppliers, as well as a competitive mechanism for gas pricing, while earlier tariffs were regulated by the state in a manual way.
Apart from that, Oleksiy Honcharuk emphasized that the Government will continue its energy efficiency policy to reduce the cost of utilities for Ukrainians.
