Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk has awarded the winners of the final part of the selection of participants to join the national team of Ukraine who will take part in the International Invictus Games 2020, which will be held in May in The Hague (Netherlands).
“It is a great honor for me to be here to greet people who demonstrated high responsibility at a very responsible moment for the country and went to defend our land. This is incredibly important for us, and we as a Government will try to work efficiently to make life easier for you”, said Oleksiy Honcharuk, addressing the participants of the competition.
"In four sports events at the Pioneer stadium in Kyiv, more than 200 participants have been taking part in competitions - Ukrainian veterans and servicemen who were injured or got disability as a result of performing their duties in the war zone", the Minister for Veterans Affairs, Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine Oksana Koliada said. The Invictus Games continued throughout the whole day, and in addition to the sports competitions, there was organized a recreation zone with a range of activities not only for the participants but also for their relatives and friends who had come to support the participants.
