Oleksiy Honcharuk commissioned to conduct transparent privatization of over 300 objects in 2020
Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk has given a commission to the chairman of the State Property Fund Dmytro Sennichenko to carry out a transparent privatization of more than 300 objects in 2020.
"Before the New Year we have done the groundwork for the launch of small-scale privatization, and this month we have announced 87 transparent auctions," said Oleksiy Honcharuk. "Privatization is about leveraging investment and creating workplaces through the transfer into private property unprofitable non-strategic enterprises owned by the state."
The Prime Minister stressed that for decades most of the state-owned enterprises used to be loss-making for the state, but quite profitable for the oligarchs who, having their cronies holding posts in those enterprises earned millions.
There have been put auctions more properties in the last quarter of 2019 than in the previous three quarters of 2019. And overall, in 2019, revenue from privatization demonstrated a twofold increase against the entire 2018 year.
In total, in the first quarter, the State Property Fund plans to announce more than 200 tenders with a new quality of information disclosure.
To do this, the State Property Fund has launched a virtual data room. This is a pilot project where all company documents will be available in electronic format to anyone. The investor will know not only the name of the company but also the current state of affairs.
"Transparent terms of privatization are among the key conditions for Ukraine's investment attractiveness!" summed up Oleksiy Honcharuk.
