On June 30, the Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Chernyshov met with the delegation of the National Council of Austria led by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Austria-Ukraine Helmut Brandstetter.

"It is extremely important for us to deepen the partnership between the communities of Austria and Ukraine. We highly appreciate the amount of humanitarian and technical assistance provided by our Austrian partners. We hope for further cooperation and involvement of the Austrian side in the reconstruction of our country," the Minister noted.

The parties discussed the issues of strengthening cooperation between the countries, involving the Austrian side in establishing partnerships between communities and regions, as well as rebuilding the territories of Ukraine that suffered from the armed aggression of the russian federation. It was also discussed the possibilities of expanding the range of humanitarian assistance for communities.

It should be noted that the possibility of establishing partnership relations between the town of Füsendorf (a suburb of Vienna) and the hero city of Bucha, as well as between the city of Wiener Neustadt and the village of Borodianka, is currently being worked out.

During the meeting, the Minister for Communities and Territories Development for the Austrian side's support in granting Ukraine the status of a candidate country in the European Union, as well as for the consistent policy of implementing EU sanctions against russia.
