On 15 February 2024, the sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Ukrainian-Greek Working Group on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held.
The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleh Nemchinov co-chaired the meeting on behalf of Ukraine, and Deputy Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hellenic Republic, Kostas Fragoyannis, on behalf of Greece.
"Relations between our countries have a long history based on the principles of friendship, equality and mutual respect. The Government of Ukraine is committed to developing and rationally using the opportunities offered by the transformation of our economy and further integration into the European Union. The Hellenic Republic is an important partner for Ukraine. Ukraine is interested in further development of bilateral cooperation. We are committed to using our joint potential to expand the areas of cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations," said Oleh Nemchinov, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
During the event, it was noted that Ukraine and Greece currently have many promising areas for deepening cooperation, so it is important to actively communicate with the executive authorities of Ukraine and Greece, organise intergovernmental consultations in various formats between the meetings of the Working Group, which would facilitate the implementation of all agreements reached and the search for new forms of cooperation. In addition, the implementation of potential investment projects to rebuild, restore and reconstruct Ukraine's damaged and destroyed infrastructure is now important.
At the end of the meeting, the Parties signed a Protocol defining the areas of future cooperation.

The Intergovernmental Joint Ukrainian-Greek Working Group on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was established in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, signed on 15 January 1992 in Athens, and the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on the Establishment of the Intergovernmental Joint Working Group on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, signed on 1 September 1994 in Kyiv.
