Today, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleh Nemchinov took part in the opening of the OECD Global Forum & Public Governance Ministerial Meeting: Building Trust and Reinforcing Democracy, which is taking place these days in Luxembourg.
The forum was opened by Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bethel and Deputy Secretary-General of OECD Kerri-Ann Jones. In addition, Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander De Croo sent his greetings.
“In their statements, all top officials focused on Ukraine and expressed their support for our struggle. Unfortunately, I had to start my speech with the news from our media publics: concerning missiles over Kyiv and victims in Dnipro. In addition, of course, I stressed the need for further support of our state in the fight against the aggressor,” – Oleh Nemchinov said.
During the event, 10 plenary sessions will be held to discuss such topics as: trust in state institutions, strengthening information ecosystems and combating disinformation, reinforcing integrity and countering undue influence in democratic countries, youth empowerment and intergenerational justice, etc.
Besides, meetings have already been held with: Gregor Virant – OECD/SIGMA Program Manager, Elsa Pilichowski – OECD Director for Public Governance, Dustin Brown – Chair of the OECD Committee on Public Governance and Deputy Assistant Director for Management of the Office of Management and Budget in the Executive Office of the President. Meetings with Kerri-Ann Jones – Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD, and Mathieu Bousquet – Acting Director of the European Commission’s DG NEAR A, are also planned.
At 16:50 Kyiv time a panel discussion titled “Accountable public administrations for stronger democracies in Eastern and Southeastern Europe and MENA – focus on Ukraine” will take place. It will be moderated by Gregor Virant, OECD/SIGMA Program Manager. Participants:
