Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for European Integration Andriy Shevchenko met with faction leader of the Social Democratic Party in the Bundestag Rolf Mützenich and Co-leader of the party Lars Klingbeil.

The German delegation was briefed on the current situation on the frontlines of the russian-Ukrainian war and the importance of maintaining positive dynamics in supplying Ukraine with necessary weapons and other material and technical assistance.

Andriy Shevchenko thanked the Government and people of Germany for supporting Ukraine in the fight against the russian aggressor and for the positive decisions taken by the Bundestag parliamentarians in the context of strengthening the Ukrainian Army on the battlefield.

“We are grateful for the assistance and constant work to support our country at all diplomatic platforms. Western and, in particular, German weapons help save the lives of our defenders and civilians. Also, thanks to the modern weapons received, our soldiers are bringing Ukraine’s victory closer,” noted Andriy Shevchenko.

The Deputy Minister of Defense emphasized the implementation of a logistics system for accounting and control of foreign weapons, LOGFAS, in the Defense Ministry and noted that maintaining the trust of partners was a very important factor for Ukraine.

The German MPs expressed their readiness to continue supporting Ukraine and reaffirmed their solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
