Germany commends progress of reforms in Ukraine and is ready to continue to support Kyiv at the parliamentary level – a meeting of Prime Minister with President of the Bundestag

Germany notes the progress made by the Government of Ukraine and expresses its commitment to helping Ukraine regain its sovereignty and territorial integrity amid armed confrontation with Russia. This statement was issued during a  meeting of Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman with  President of the Bundestag Wolfgang Schäuble. The meeting was held within the framework of the Prime Minister’s visit to Berlin.

"I know that coalition agreement of a new Government of Germany encapsulates considerable attention to the support of our state and our reforms. We appreciate and are grateful for such attention to our country", Volodymyr Groysman stressed.

In turn, the  President of the Bundestag noted that Kyiv can always count on the support of Berlin at the level of parliamentary cooperation.

In the course of the meeting the parties discussed economic changes, plans for cooperation with the international financial organizations and  core objectives for 2019. Considerable attention was paid to the situation in the Sea of Azov. The Head of Government claimed that  all necessary measures should be taken to deter the aggressor.
