We need not only smart grids, but also protection for them: German Galushchenko
As part of the Net Zero World Initiative ministerial meeting, German Galushchenko took part in a dialogue between philanthropists and ministers organised with the support of U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and renowned American businessman Bill Gates.
The head of the Ministry of Energy spoke about the situation in Ukraine’s energy sector and the consequences of massive russian attacks on energy infrastructure. According to German Galushchenko, Ukraine managed to keep the energy system in good condition even during the most difficult winter period and is ready to share this extraordinary experience with international partners.
The Minister also stressed the need to put an end to global dependence on the nuclear technologies of the terrorist state of russia.
In his speech, the Energy Minister stressed that Ukraine shared the aspirations of the entire civilised world in transiting to carbon-free energy and developing smart grids and storages.
“But Ukraine faces even greater challenges: we need not only smart grids, but also the protection of these smart grids. We live under constant military attacks and the possibility of their recurrence in the future is our reality. Therefore, we need to work on developing modern technologies in the energy sector and strengthening the protection of such energy facilities. We invite investors to do this with us, which will not only accelerate the green transition, but also strengthen energy security in general,” said German Galushchenko.
As part of the event, the Minister also held a bilateral meeting with Bill Gates.
