Pursuant to the order of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, NJSC Naftogaz Ukrayiny is obliged to lower the price of natural gas for the population by UAH 650 per thousand cubic meters.
In accordance with Government Resolution No. 293, from June Naftogaz is obliged to sell gas to the population at the price being the lowest on one of four platforms:
1. Ministry of Economic Development and Trade - average customs value of imported gas makes up UAH 5,161 per 1,000 cubic meters excluding VAT.
2. Ukrainian Energy Exchange - gas was sold for July at a price UAH 4,905 per 1,000 cubic meters excluding VAT.
3. Naftogaz Ukrayiny - gas for the industry on prepayment, fixed for July makes up UAH 5,017 per 1,000 cubic meters excluding VAT.
4. Or at the price under the PSO (public service obligations) mechanism, in accordance with Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 867, which for July is calculated at UAH 7,185 per 1,000 cubic meters excluding VAT.
The lowest price was offered by the Ukrainian Energy Exchange. Therefore, the price of gas in July for the population, excluding VAT without tariffs for transportation and supply, will make up UAH 4,905 per 1,000 cubic meters, which is less by UAH 650 than the price in June being UAH 5,554.
As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 293 and obliged Naftogaz to sell gas to the population cheaper from June. This decision disables any speculations by Naftogaz regarding gas prices.
