On March 25, Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Chernyshov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Yagmur Ahmet Guldere.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further cross-border and interregional cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey, development of industrial parks in Ukraine, cooperation with the Turkish side in the field of digitalization, namely in the development of broadband Internet access. The Minister stressed the importance of cooperation between the countries and thanked for the long-term support.
"I thank the Republic of Turkey for many years of fruitful cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. And also for the steadfast and consistent support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, in particular for the policy of non-recognition of the occupation of Ukrainian Crimea by Russia," stressed Oleksii Chernyshov.
Moreover, the interlocutors discussed the plans of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development for the development of industrial parks network in Ukraine. Oleksii Chernyshov said that in 2021 Ukraine is focusing on the construction of such facilities, which is among the areas included in the program of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The parks will be created at the expense of the State Regional Development Fund.
The Minister invited Turkish companies to cooperate in this area. It was also agreed to hold an online meeting with representatives of the Turkish side in order to exchange experiences on the development of industrial parks.
"I believe that the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development and the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Ukraine have a huge potential to cooperate in such areas as the creation of industrial parks, the development of light industry and the promotion of tourism. I was very glad to meet with Minister Oleksii Chernyshov and discuss future partnership projects," said Yagmur Ahmet Guldere.
The Minister for Communities and Territories Development also told the partners about the progress of the implementation of the program of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy "Great Construction" in 2020. He told that for the second year in a row, hundreds of projects have been implemented across the country that are changing the lives of citizens.
Cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey will continue through the establishment of a Ukrainian-Turkish intergovernmental working group on interregional and cross-border cooperation, working within the Ukrainian-Turkish intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, or a separate intergovernmental commission.
