Canada-Ukraine Foundation has donated 10 Ford Transit Type C ambulances manufactured in 2023, specially designed for the transportation of seriously ill patients, to Ukraine.
The vehicles are fully equipped with the necessary medical equipment.
"In the face of constant shelling and bombing by the enemy army and targeted destruction of medical infrastructure, we are doing everything we can to provide medical care for our patients. The efficient and high-quality work of emergency medical services is critical. It is about saving the lives and health of a huge number of people. I am grateful to all our partners who help us support the work of the ambulance service, including the renewal of our vehicle fleet, which, unfortunately, is also often targeted by the enemy. Ten Type C ambulances purchased through donations from Canadian citizens are equipped with everything necessary to transport seriously ill patients and will strengthen emergency and disaster medicine centres in seven regions of Ukraine," said Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko.
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine will use these vehicles to develop the national disaster medicine system.
"The ambulances have already been distributed to emergency medical care and disaster medicine centres in Zakarpattia, Lviv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Khmelnytsky regions.
The project was implemented with donations from Canadian citizens.
"I express my gratitude to all Canadian citizens and people who permanently or temporarily reside in Canada. Through your actions and financial donations, you are supporting Ukraine in this difficult time. Your contribution makes us stronger together!" said Oksana A. Wynnyckyj-Yusypovych, Honorary Consul of Canada.
In total, during the period of martial law, the Canada Ukraine Foundation donated 24 vehicles, 100 lung ventilators and medical devices for healthcare institutions.
As a reminder, 261 ambulances have been wrecked, 165 damaged, and 125 stolen in Ukraine during the full-scale war.
