Belgium will allocate EUR 150,000 of assistance to Ukraine for the cultural sphere. This was agreed between Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions of Belgium Hadja Lahbib, who arrived these days in Kyiv.
Besides, Brussels will provide further humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine and has joined the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian initiative.
“During the meeting, we agreed on important cooperation: Ukrainian cultural seasons in Belgium, supplying generators to our institutions and media for the winter, expanding the ban on Russian propaganda, assistance in preserving Ukrainian cultural heritage and aid in the amount of EUR 150,000 to the cultural sphere,” Oleksandr Tkachenko said.
During the visit of Hadja Lahbib, Oleksandr Tkachenko gave a tour for his Belgian colleague to the National Art Museum of Ukraine and St. Sophia of Kyiv.
“We showed our art, historical and architectural monuments, our history and roots,” he said.
