In accordance with the agreements between Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko and Minister of Energy of Lithuania Dainius Kreivys, the Lithuanian side will transfer a powerful autotransformer to Ukraine to be installed at one of the energy facilities damaged by enemy shelling.
“Lithuania is a reliable friend and partner of Ukraine that has been supporting us since the first days of the full-scale war. I thank Dainius Kreivys and the entire Lithuanian people for all the support that has been provided and continues to be provided to the Ukrainian energy sector,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
This is the third powerful transformer from Lithuanian partners that will help strengthen the resilience of the power system.
As a reminder, a group of Ukrainian power engineers from public and private sector companies recently visited Lithuania. During the visit, Ukrainian experts inspected equipment at Lithuanian power facilities that is being prepared for transfer and will soon be delivered to Ukraine. In addition to a powerful autotransformer, high-voltage insulators, valves, rotary mechanisms, pumps, generators, transformers, solar panels, inverters and other necessary equipment are also expected to arrive from Lithuania.
In total, since March 2022, Ukraine has received 77 shipments of power equipment from Lithuania with a total weight of over 1,433 tonnes, including two powerful transformers.
