On November 17, the leadership of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine, and staff from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) started policy discussions on a new financial cooperation program.

The talks will focus on the government’s economic policy objectives, with an emphasis on fiscal and monetary policies aimed at ensuring stability, as well as on structural measures to strengthen governance, combat corruption, and support economic growth.

“We expect a week of productive discussions with IMF staff. The new program will help meet Ukraine’s budgetary needs in the medium term and support the implementation of structural reforms aimed at economic recovery and European integration. I am grateful to the IMF for its continued support and expertise, which help strengthen Ukraine’s economic and financial resilience,” said Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko.

Ukraine has received nine tranches under the current IMF Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program totaling about USD 10.6 billion.
