Ministry of Digital Transformation: More than 300 defense tech companies have joined Diia.City

More and more Ukrainian and international defense technology developers are choosing the special legal and tax regime of Diia.City to develop their projects. More than 300 defense tech companies have already joined the platform.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, the Government expanded the list of activities that companies can use to obtain Diia.City residency. This allowed manufacturers of technological products for the defense sector to take advantage of the community. Since then, the Ukrainian defense tech ecosystem has begun to grow rapidly within Diia.City.

The resident companies include both industry leaders and promising startups working on innovative solutions in the following areas:

  • drones and UAVs;
  • demining;
  • electronic warfare and communications;
  • thermal sights, night vision devices;
  • training simulators;
  • navigation systems;
  • robotic systems;
  • components for drones;
  • software for the industry;
  • air defense systems;
  • aerial systems, etc.

Through residency in Diia.City, defense companies receive tools for business development and scaling, such as:

  • special tax regime, including the ability to use the Exit Capital Tax (ECT) to reinvest in industrial development;
  • flexible formats of cooperation with specialists;
  • tools for attracting venture capital investments;
  • mechanisms for protecting intellectual property;
  • residency as one of the criteria for booking employees.

The companies engaging in the following types of activities can join the Diia.City:

  • design, manufacture or operate unmanned aerial vehicles;
  • create robotic systems;
  • train drone operators;
  • develop batteries, accumulators, navigation systems and other components for drones;
  • have R&D, conduct research and development activities or create technological products for the defense sector.

Supporting innovative companies in the security and defense sector is a strategic priority for Ukraine. Diia.City continues to create an environment in which technology businesses can quickly scale up, develop modern defense solutions and strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.
